Investment Strategy

Where We Focus.

01

Natural Resource Extraction & Rail Infrastructure

Underground mineral extraction and captive rail infrastructure form competitive moats that are extraordinarily difficult to replicate. A working salt mine and a Class III railroad with 225+ railcars represent hard assets with durable, cycle-resistant demand.

02

Advanced Materials & Sustainability

Low-carbon building materials represent a generational growth opportunity. Reducing embodied carbon in concrete — through supplementary cementitious materials and innovative manufacturing — meets accelerating regulatory and commercial demand for sustainable construction.

03

Transportation & Distribution

An 80+ truck fleet with terminal infrastructure across eight states connects production to customers. Bulk commodity logistics — salt, aggregate, grain, and specialty materials — serves agricultural, construction, and commercial markets with durable, non-discretionary demand.

04

Instar Management Company

A shared executive platform providing centralized C-suite leadership, finance, legal, HR, supply chain, and technology across all operating companies. This model reduces overhead, enables rapid integration of new acquisitions, and lets each business focus on operations.

The Team

Leadership

The people guiding Instar Holdings and its subsidiaries bring deep experience in commodity markets, operational logistics, and strategic investment.
